Improving the ninja evading: before and after
Devlog: Revisiting the evading animations #devlog #shinobi #ninja #indiegame Allowing the player to evade is important; it represents defense. The player can dodge in eight directions—forward, back, forward left, forward right, etc. This dodge mechanic was created several months ago. As a team, we are always prototyping and re-iterating. We recently took a closer look at the dodge animations and felt that they needed to be changed—previous ones felt too stylish.
